Former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion and ex-Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary-General Ouma Oluga are among 109 candidates shortlisted for Principal Secretary (PS) positions.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) published the list, which also features notable names such as social media commentator Gabriel Oguda, former Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu, and ex-Chief Administrative Secretary David Osiany.
Other prominent candidates on the shortlist include Health Director-General Patrick Amoth, former Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Chairperson Anne Makori, Ambassador Rose Makena, and former Health PS Nicholas Muraguri.
The shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews at the PSC, and successful applicants will be forwarded to President William Ruto for formal appointment.
According to PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri, the interviews will be scheduled on a date to be announced on the Commission’s website.

Members of the public are encouraged to provide credible information about the shortlisted candidates through sworn affidavits. Submissions can be sent to the Secretary/CEO of the Public Service Commission or via email by January 24.
The vacancies arose following recent reassignments within the executive. The PSC received 2,517 applications after the positions were announced on November 20, 2024.
