At least four more bodies have been recovered from the Kware dumpsite in the Mukuru kwa Njenga slums, Nairobi on Saturday, July 13.

A statement by the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) indicated that the bodies were mutilated, similar to those recovered yesterday.

According to the KHRC, eight bodies were retrieved from the pit yesterday. Today's additional discoveries bring the number to at least twelve, with residents fearing there could be more.

"More mutilated bodies have been recovered from a quarry pit in Mukuru, Embakasi South," read a post by the Commission on X.

In their report yesterday, detectives noted that six bodies retrieved from the Kware dumpsite were all female. These six bodies were severely mutilated and in various stages of decomposition.

Images seen by The Standard showed the bodies wrapped in sacks and black polythene bags, then tied with ropes, similar to those recovered today.

According to DCI boss Mohamed Amin, preliminary investigations point to a similar mode of killing for the deceased. The process of analyzing samples to identify the bodies is currently underway.
