Kenya Airways has suspended flights to Comoros and Mayotte Islands until Monday, December 16, due to poor weather caused by Tropical Cyclone Chido.

“Authorities in both countries have issued alerts regarding the impact of the cyclone, which is expected to persist until Monday. To ensure the safety of our staff and customers, flights to Comoros and Mayotte have been temporarily suspended,” Kenya Airways said in a statement on Saturday.

The national carrier added that it is closely monitoring the situation and plans to resume flights on Monday once conditions improve.

Countries along Africa’s East Coast are on high alert as Cyclone Chido is expected to make landfall over the weekend.

Authorities have urged residents in affected regions and islands to brace for the storm's impact, avoid unnecessary movement, and seek shelter in designated safe areas.
