The ODM National Elections Coordinating Committee has announced plans to hold grassroots elections in all polling centres across the 47 counties on November 27, 2024.

The party will hold elections of 30 officials at each polling station with 10 each for three committees of Mainstream, Women League and Youth League.

In a statement sent to newsrooms the committee said that the positions to be contested in the mainstream category include Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Organising Secretary and their deputies, the treasurer and three committee members.

“As all ODM party members are aware the National Elections Coordinating Committee was scheduled to hold grassroots elections in April but due to the flooding that was experienced in most parts of the country at the time, the exercise was postponed indefinitely,” read the statement.

The Committee stated that the positions to be contested in the Women and Youth League categories include the Chairperson, Secretary, Organising Secretary and their deputies, Treasurer and three committee members.

The team further said that persons with disabilities and minorities shall be mainstreamed in the three categories with the voting to be conducted by consensus or show of hands.

The grassroots elections shall be conducted between 10 am and 2 pm with the County Election Coordinators working closely with polling centre coordinators, with members required to acquaint themselves with guidelines for election.

“The structure and membership of the Sub Branch, Branch and County Coordinating Committee remains the same and the National Election Coordinating Committee shall announce the rollout of elections in these categories after the completion of polling centre elections,” read the statement.

“ODM members are encouraged to verify their membership details via dialing *483*036# and continuously engage the National Elections Coordinating Committee,” read the statement.
