Tens of thousands of people from around the world gathered on Monday, 1st September, to honour Prophet Elvis Mbonye during the 2025 Honour Day, marking one of Uganda’s most significant spiritual events. Delegations travelled from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond to celebrate the profound impact of the Lord Jesus’ ministry through Prophet Mbonye.

The event drew a spirited and diverse crowd, including believers, dignitaries, cultural leaders, media personalities, and business figures, symbolising the unity that defines the prophetic office. The ceremony saw high-level political participation, with Vice President Jessica Alupo attending as the chief guest. She delivered remarks emphasising the importance of embracing a prophet and the blessings such a gift brings to the nation. Other government officials and cabinet ministers present included Hon. Rose Lily Akello and Balaam Barugahara, alongside politicians such as Ken Lukyamuzi, leader of the Conservative Party, and Hon. Ronald Balimwezo of the National Unity Party, all acknowledging the profound impact of Prophet Mbonye.

Cultural heritage was also celebrated through the presence of leaders like Prince Daudi Kintu Wasajja and Owek Noah Kiyimba, Minister for Lukiiko, highlighting the event’s deep roots in Uganda’s traditions. Honour Day 2025 was notable for its unprecedented scale and international participation. Devotees led by various spiritual leaders came from Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Congo, and as far as Pakistan. The event has become a pilgrimage and a unique space where people from diverse continents and cultures unite in worship and recognition of the prophetic ministry exemplified by Prophet Mbonye.

The occasion was further enlivened by media and entertainment figures, including former BBC journalist Allan Kasujja, Dalton Kaweesa, Ykee Benda, Isaiah Katumwa, and Kenya’s DJ Son of Nations. Their presence underscored the event’s wide societal influence and the respect it commands across different sectors.

Speaking to the gathering, Prophet Elvis Mbonye referenced Matthew 10:41, saying, “He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.” He then prophesied directly over Uganda, forecasting prosperity, new opportunities, and a future where Uganda would be sought after for partnerships by other nations.

The event was impeccably organised, featuring regal carpets across the venue, precise ushering of dignitaries, and extensive camera setups to broadcast the occasion. The combination of fashion, lighting, and music created an atmosphere of ceremonial elegance befitting the evening’s significance.

Every aspect of the night highlighted the importance of the prophet’s role in contemporary times and the transformative blessings available to individuals and nations that embrace the prophetic office. Uganda now stands poised for reward, bearing the promise of a prosperous future inspired by prophetic affirmation.
