It was another loss for Kenya at the World Women's Boxing Championships in Nis, Serbia yesterday when lightweight boxer Emily Juma lost her bout to Jedinakova Miroslava of Slovakia on unanimous points decision.
From the first bell, both boxers traded punches but the Kenyan boxer could not match those of her opponent.
Miroslava overwhelmed the Kenyan boxer in all the three rounds of the bout, which convinced the five judges who gave a 5-0 verdict in favour of Miroslava. The bout was the round of 16.
The Slovak took advantage of her height to hammer in steady jabs that landed accurately on the Kenyan boxer who had her punches floating most of the time.

Juma was the second Kenyan to have lost in the week-long showpiece after the loss of flyweight Veronica Mbithe on her opening match on Sunday.
Balkibekova Alua of Kazakhstan beat Mbithe on unanimous points decision with all five judges scoring against the Kenyan.
Alua scored 30-27, 30-26, 30-24, 30-27 and 30-27 indicating she was superior to Mbithe.
On Mbithe’s loss, head coach Musa Benjamin said she lost to a superior opponent who was more experienced.
“Veronica (Mbithe) faced an experienced boxer than we expected. But her performance was encouraging and the loss is an eye-opener in her future matches,” he said.
