With a number of international assignments still in the offing, the second leg of the National Boxing League is set to offer boxers a chance to catch the eyes of national selectors.

The event boxes-off tomorrow for three days ending on Saturday.

All top names are expected to turn up with players keen to impress national team selectors.

Defending champions Kenya Defence Forces and league leaders Kenya Police will once again face-off, while former league champions Kenya Prisons, who recently recruited players will make the event more competitive.

“A number of our boxers are ready and it’s all about giving the best and not mere participation,” said Kenya Prisons Secretary General Edward Mwaura whose sentiments gives pressure to his coach Bernard Ngumba.

Ngumba said his boys were in good shape and that it’s a matter of time before catching up with the league leaders.

Kenya Police are leading the table standings with 24 points ahead of the warders who are pointless after missing the first leg.
