The progress in the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been hampered by lack of resources.

With the target to meet the SDGs set for 2030, the government admitted yesterday the progress has not been fast enough due to lack of resources and other factors.

Director of SDGs at the State Department of Economic Planning Festus Wangwe, however, said Kenya has made significant strides in inclusive financing such as Uwezo Fund and Hustler Fund.

He said the two funds were among interventions that have had an impact on financing many Kenyans at the bottom of the pyramid.

“We have made notable progress on the issue of ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001479095/kenya-on-track-to-attain-sdgs-by-2030-report-shows">inclusive financing< which is in the Kenya Vision 2030 and the Bottom Up Transformation Agenda.

He was speaking at the annual national SDGs multi-stakeholders’ conference at the Pride Inn Paradise hotel in Mombasa county.

The forum brought together national government, county governments, UN family and private sector delegates to share their experiences following the short period remaining to reach the UN target date.

SDGs Kenya Forum Executive Director Florence Syevuo said they organise peer-peer exchange of data and collaboration to avoid duplication of efforts and resources in implementing SGSs as non-state actors.
