Politician Peter Mbae has criticized Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen for his statement suggesting that President William Ruto is guaranteed to retain his seat in the upcoming election.
Dr Mbae has addressed a letter to the Ministry condemning this assertion concerning the outcome of the 2027 General Election.

Mbae emphasizes that Murkomen, as a senior government official, should be mindful that his public statements carry significant weight.
He expresses concern that the current administration may be attempting to manipulate the electoral process to secure the outcome Murkomen described.

He condemns these remarks as violations of citizens' rights to vote in the General Election and choose their leaders.
Mbae, represented by lawyer Kamotho Njomo, demands that CS Murkomen retract his statement and affirm that citizens' rights under Article 38 of the Constitution will be protected and that the will of the people will be honored.
"The CS should publicly confirm that the State will use all means necessary to ensure that the 2027 general elections are free, fair, and transparent," he urges.

Mbae highlights the potential consequences of such statements and has also forwarded his letter to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), urging the Court to intervene.
"The court should open an investigation into the situation in Kenya to prevent a recurrence of the violence experienced in 2007," the letter concluded.
