Three people killed in a road accident in Homa Bay

Three people were killed in a grisly road accident in Homa Bay County.
The victims include a male student from a local secondary school and two other men.
The accident occurred near Nyalkinyi Trading Center in Homa Bay Sub-county along the Homa Bay-Kendu Bay road on Thursday, August 1.
The three met their deaths when the motorbike they were traveling on collided with a speeding vehicle.
Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua noted that the student died on the spot, one of the men died upon arrival at Homa Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital, and the third victim succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The occupants of the vehicle escaped without serious injuries.
According to Barua, road users should observe traffic rules to reduce the loss of lives in road accidents.
"Let residents observe traffic rules whenever they are using roads. People who ride motorbikes should ensure they carry only one passenger. Drivers should drive at the recommended speed too," Barua said.
The bodies of the three victims were moved to the Homa Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
