Skyline director charged over Sh25 million land fraud

A director at Skyline Works Ltd has been charged before a Nairobi court over an alleged land fraud involving a disputed Eastleigh property valued at Sh25 million.
Abdul Hassan Tahalil, who appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, denied two charges of forgery of a land title document contrary to Section 350(1) of the Penal Code, and uttering a false document contrary to Section 353.
According to the prosecution, Tahalil is accused of forging ownership documents in a scheme targeting Eastleigh businesswoman Mary Wairimu Muhoro.
The accused, who was arrested by DCI detectives, is alleged to have committed the offences on or before August 10, 2022, at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud Wairimu of parcel of land LR No. 36/1/18 situated in Eastleigh and valued at Sh25 million. He is said to have forged a title document, an Indenture, purporting it to be genuine and drawn by CK Advocates.
In a separate count, the prosecution alleges that Tahalil later presented the disputed document in court.
“On November 30, 2022, at Environment and Land Court Milimani in Nairobi, knowingly and fraudulently uttered a certain forged document namely an Indenture for parcel of land LR NO.36/1/18 to the Environment and Land Court in civil suit number 409 of 2022 purporting it to be a genuine Indenture drawn by the firm of CK Advocates,” the charge sheet states in part.
The prosecution also asked the court to summon or order the arrest of other suspects believed to have been involved in the alleged land fraud scheme.
Court records show Tahalil was arrested on April 23, 2026, and presented in court on Friday where he answered to the charges.
After denying the charges, he urged the court to grant him reasonable bail terms, stating that he is not a flight risk and will comply with all conditions.
The prosecution did not oppose his release on bail but asked the court to set commensurate bail terms.
In a brief ruling, Magistrate Onyina released the accused on a bond of Sh1 million, with an alternative cash bail of Sh500,000.
The case will be mentioned on May 6, 2026.
