Shabana whip Sofapaka to get out of relegation zone

Shabana moved out of the relegation zone after thrashing Sofapaka 4-1 on Saturday in a FKF Premier League match played at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County.
The Gusii blub have been struggling for consistency and winning matches since their return to the league and they needed a quick response to turn around their sinking ship, a result they got by whitewashing Batoto ba Mungu.
Ezekiah Omuri gave the hosts a dream start after netting in the fifth minute to lead 1-0.
In the 38th minute, Brian Michira ensured Shabana will take a comfortable 2-0 lead to half time, a lead they would stretch to 3-0 after the restart in the 63rd minted through Wycliffe Nthata.
Aistine Wahongo pulled a goal back for Batoto ba Mungu to trail 3-1 but Shabana were not yet done as Nehemiah Onchiri sealed a 4-1 win for the hosts.

The win moved Shabana from second last in the standings to 13th in the 18-team standings with 14 points same as Sofapaka who have an inferior goal difference.
Elsewhere, KCB closed the gap between them and leaders Gor Mahia to within one point after narrowly seeing off Kenya Police 2-1.
Derrick Otanga and Apollo Onyango struck for the bankers in the win as former Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna converted a late consolation goal from the spot for Police.
KCB moved joint second alongside Kakamega Homeboyz with 27 points.
Homeboyz and Gor Mahia play on Sunday.
William Wadri and Umar Kasumba scored as Bandari edged out Muranga’a SEAL 2-0.
