Tusker on Saturday ascended to the top of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League standings following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bidco United at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The twelve-time champions secured the crucial win courtesy of veteran forward Deogratious Ojok, who struck just two minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The result propelled the brewers to 47 points, two ahead of Kenya Police, who are set to play Posta Rangers on Sunday, and five clear of third-placed Gor Mahia.
The loss dealt a significant blow to Bidco United’s survival hopes, leaving them 17th on the 18-team table with 23 points from 25 games.

Meanwhile, Bandari FC continued their push towards the top four with a 2-1 win over Ulinzi Stars at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa. Beja Nyamawi was the hero for the dockers, netting a first-half brace to seal the victory.
Nyamawi opened the scoring in the 20th minute before doubling Bandari’s advantage from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute.
Ulinzi Stars pulled one back through Boniface Muchiri’s strike just after the restart in the 46th minute, but Bandari held firm to secure all three points. The win saw Bandari move joint fifth with AFC Leopards on 36 points, just three behind fourth-placed KCB, who sit on 39 points. Ulinzi Stars, on the other hand, remain 13th with 28 points following the defeat.
In another league encounter, relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars were held to a goalless draw by Kariobangi Sharks at Machakos Stadium. The result did little to ease City Stars’ struggles as they remain bottom of the table with 23 points, while Sharks occupy 12th place.
