Kenyan football fraternity has once again been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of AFC Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu.

Andugu, who was serving for the first time as the club’s Secretary General, passed on yesterday in a hospital in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

In a statement posted on Ingwe social media pages, the club described him as a dedicated and passionate leader.

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of our Secretary General, Mr. Gilbert Andugu, who departed this morning while undergoing treatment," read part of the statement.

"Mr. Andugu was a dedicated, humble, and passionate leader with a dynamic personality. He was a committed member of the AFC fraternity, having served faithfully as Chairman of Chairmen (COC) and as a member of the National Executive Committee for three years."

The statement continued: " We shall remember Mr. Andugu as a pivotal figure in the development and management of both the sport and club. His contributions and leadership have left a lasting legacy that will be cherished for years to come."
