Michael Karanga shuttered a 10-year-old Kiambu Golf Club course record on the final day of the Captain (CPA Mike Nyangi) 2023 prize.

Karanga, the comeback King, did it in style as he returned a final-day score of 10-under 72 to erase the earlier record by professional golfer James Karanga (his maternal grandfather) of -6-under set in 2013.

"I want to shatter records and set new ones that will remain in place for a long time," Karanga said.

In Karanga's shadows was Fred Mwangi who combined 40 and 35 for a total of 73 points to take the overall combined second-placed title. Kiambu Golf Club chairman Phillip Ondieki led by example as he clinched men's winner prize with 39 points, playing off handicap 20.
