Barot wins fourth leg of Old Mutual tourney

Home golfer Sharad Barot is the winner of the fourth leg of the Old Mutual Golf series held at the par-72, Vet Lab Sports Club layout on Friday.

Barot playing off handicap 28 shot a round total of 41 stableford points to clinch the title at the 18-hole course during the corporate golf tournament presented by Old Mutual Group to pipe a field of 210 golfers who took part in the corporate golf tournament.

The series has so far been hosted at Nyali Golf and Country Club, Nyeri Club, Kenya Railways Golf Club and Ruiru Sports Club. The series will wind up at the prestigious Karen Golf and Country Club on December 14.

"It's a nice feeling to be victorious in such a big golf series sponsored by a renowned financial institution as the Old Mutual Group. It's simply great," said Barot.

Taking the Men's winner prize was Onesmas Mwaura playing off handicap 28 upon returning a score of 39 stableford points with low handicapper, John Odhiambo, playing off handicap 3, clinched Men winner second prize on a score of 39 stableford points.

Handicap 30 Ann Njuguna was declared the Lady winner on a score of 38 stableford points ahead of handicap 20, Hellen Manyara who settled for Lady winner second on a score of 36 stableford points.

Leading in the Guest category was Anthony Muigai playing off handicap 28 after returning a score of 37 stableford points.

The sponsor winner prize was won by a handicap 18, Francis Mugo on a score of 38 stableford points.

Handicap 22 Innocent Nyakwara and David Warui playing off handicap 15 were the Best Front and Back Nine winners on 22 and 21 stableford points respectively.

In the special category, Ruth Foulser playing off handicap 39 outshined the rest on a score of 44 stableford points.
