Golfers await Lion King action at Nandi Bears Club tomorrow

Nandi Bears Club will be the centre of action when the LION King of the Course is set to roar at Great Rift Valley tomorrow.

This will be the 9th editon of ICEA LION King of the Course 2025 Golf Series which will be preceded by a curtain raiser Club night tournament at Kericho Club today.

A contingent of over 30 guest golfers from Machakos, Thika Greens, Ruiru, and Nanyuki Golf Clubs will be joining over 140 local colleagues in the tournament that follows the resounding success of earlier legs in Machakos, Thika Greens, Ruiru and Nanyuki.

They are expected to grace both tournaments in support of the annual series that reinforces the LION’s dedication to excellence and community engagement in the region.

Kericho Club Golf captain Anthony Cheruiyot said the club is delighted to host the series.

Nandi Bears Golf captain Isaac Kuto said preparations are in top gear to ensure a successful tournament this weekend and are proud to be associated with the supporter in promoting the sport while bringing fun and opening up networks for the golfers.

“This is the sixth time Nandi Bears will host the series. This edition promises an unparalleled golfing experience, featuring golfers drawn from all over the country," said Kuto.

Elsewhere at Nyali Golf and Country Club, some 200 golfers will be rolling their sleeves for the Sunset golf tournament also set for tomorrow.

The day-long 18 hole-tournament, which will be played on a stableford off 95% handicap, will all be teeing off from the first tee box from at 6:10 am led by the first flight team of Kamami Njoroge, J. Kaguru, Gabriel Gakuo and Sandra Githere.

Those in the afternoon will start off at 12:02 pm with the team of D. Riaro, Carol Munyi, K' Anjenjo and Alysa Jamal.

At Karen Country Club, other 200 golfers will be gracing the 10th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

The tournament starts at 6:30 am for the morning tee-off action.
