An ODM activist, Nuru Okanga, was arraigned in court on Thursday, November 30 for allegedly insulting President William Ruto.

He denied the charge of printing abusive words on November 20, 2023, along with others who are still at large.

Okanga’s lawyer told Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina that his client was a student who had just completed his KCPE examination at Muslim Primary School and was awaiting to join Form One next year.

He also said that Okanga was a father of three children who depended on him.

“He sat for his KCPE examination this year and is waiting for his results to join form one. He’s also a family man of three children and all depend on him,” the lawyer said.

Okanga was arrested on November 29, 2023, and booked at Central Police Station before being brought to court today.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh10,000 with the case set for mention on December 13.
