Lawyer Wanjiku Wakogi appointed as DP Gachagua's chief of staff

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the appointment of lawyer Wanjiku Wakogi as his office's new Chief of Staff.

Wakogi takes over the office from George McGoye who has taken the new role of designated Ambassador to Djibouti.

Attending the handing-over ceremony by the outgoing chief in Karen, Nairobi, DP Gachagua praised Wakogi for her long-term dedication to public service which makes her an ideal candidate for the position.

"A lawyer, Ms Wakogi is a long-serving Public Servant who has led an illustrious career in various Offices and Departments. She has served with distinction," said Gachagua.

"Ms Wakogi has amassed a wealth of expertise in Governance. The high-profile technocrat and team leader has risen through the ranks and has served as the Secretary to the State Corporations Advisory Committee."

The DP exuded confidence in Wanjiku's expertise noting that she would inject renewed energy for effective and efficient discharge of mandates in her new duty post.

He also thanked the predecessor for showing dedication during his tenure wishing him success in future endeavours.
