Services on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) portal will be unavailable for four days as the authority migrates its services to e-Citizen.

NTSA will shut down its Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) portal among other services.

“This move aims to centralize access to services through a unified portal, thereby enhancing service delivery to motor vehicle owners and other stakeholders,” said NTSA.

NTSA Director General George Njao advised motorists to promptly verify their e-Citizen credentials as they will be migrating the portal from Friday, December 29, 2023, at midnight, until Monday, January 1, 2024.

"During the said period, NTSA will restrict transactions for all NTSA services. Subsequently, access to all NTSA online services will be consolidated on the e-Citizen platform," the statement read in part.

NTSA added that going forward, only E-Citizen Login credentials (Username and Password) shall be used to access its services.

"To ensure a seamless transition, NTSA urges all clients, including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, motor/motorcycle dealers, corporate/companies, Embassies, Missions, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), among other entities, to validate their e-Citizen accounts," NTSA added.
All clients with pending transactions on the TIMS platform are required to complete their applications by Friday, December 15, 2023.

The authority is now planning to conduct virtual training sessions and demonstrations from December 18 to 22, 2023, to acquaint clients with the service flows.

The registration process is free of charge and will be accessible on the NTSA portal.

The migration is in line with the government's directive for all ministries to move all government services onto the e-Citizen platform by December 31, 2023.
