Ezekiel Gitiba Mwita was found unconscious in his house before being rushed to hospital.

Border Police Patrol Unit (BPU) police boss has been found dead in his house in Matuu town, Machakos County under unclear circumstances.

According to police sources, Ezekiel Gitiba Mwita who was a Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police was found unconscious on Friday, December 15 at his rental house in Matuu town.

He was later rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

"Officers proceeded to the scene and rushed him to Matuu Level 4 Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body has been moved to Umash Funeral Home pending autopsy," the police report filed at the Matuu Police Station read in part.

The late had served in various positions in the Administration Police Service including heading the BPU.
