Kenya to set up embassy in Hungary

Kenya is set to open its embassy in Budapest, Hungary as it looks at expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

Speaking during a press briefing after meeting Hungary Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi termed the meeting successful, having discussed an array of issues including scholarships, agriculture, and business.

"I have engaged my colleague to increase the number of annual scholarships to Kenyan students to 500 to give more room to Kenyans seeking to further their education in Hungary," Musalia stated.

At the same time, Kenya's Foreign Affairs CS also said that they discussed the issue of climate change, focusing on how the two countries can curb greenhouse gas emissions.

Mudavadi noted that he has officially invited Hungary to attend the IDA 21 replenishment Summit that will take place in Nairobi between April 28- 29.

On his part, Szijjarto thanked the Kenyan government for its effort to fight terrorism, adding that the stability of the East African nation trickles to foreign nations like Hungary that have been enjoying bilateral relations for ages.

The two ministers signed an agreement on nuclear education and training cooperation which will aid Kenyan students studying nuclear.
