The Government has commissioned 18,000 agripreneurs tasked with mobilising and educating farmers across the country.

The men and women representing all 47 counties were commissioned by President William Ruto at the 61st Madaraka Day celebrations in Bungoma County.

“I am very proud to commission the 18000 agriprenuers who will ensure that farming will put money in our economy and the pockets of farmers, as they supply us with food resources in the country,” said President Ruto.

According to Ruto, the agripreneurs will work hand in hand with extension officers in every county to educate farmers on agribusiness and ensure Kenya achieves food security.

This, he says will boost revenue collected in agriculture as well as improve the lives of farmers in the country.

The commissioning was in line with this year’s Madaraka Day theme; Agriculture and Food Security.
