Boost as CS Kindiki commisions Eldas South sub-county in Wajir

Residents of Eldas South Sub County can now access government services easily after ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001490087/ruto-creates-16-new-sub-counties-divisions-and-locations">a new sub-county< was operationalised.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki who was the chief guest presided over the event which was held at Elnur Town in Eldas Constituency.
Speaking at Elnur Ward, the CS emphasized the security status of the region, announcing that the government has acquired state-of-the-art military and police equipment to fight terrorists.

"The government of Kenya has just received a contingent of armoured vehicles, mine-resistant equipment and armoured personnel carriers. All these will be used in the fight against terror. We shall fight those terrorists and make sure our Country is safe," said Kindiki.
The CS talked about the widespread issue of drug and human trafficking on the Wajir-Ethiopia border and pledged to find a solution to the recurring drug problem in the region.
"I have instructed all my security officers to tighten security in all border towns so that we can tame the drug and human trafficking business that is rampant In the region. I also urge the youth of Wajir to engage in other meaningful activities instead of staying idle and hanging around. Drugs and substance abuse are not good for your health," said Kindiki.
The CS also announced that plans to have a ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/health/national/article/2001468888/alcohol-is-still-the-most-abused-drug-in-kenya-nacada"> Nacada office Eldas MP, Adan Keynan on his part thanked the president for bringing services closer to the people. “With the establishment of the operationalised sub-county, residents of Eldas South will no longer have to travel to the county headquarters for essential services. This means that government offices will be conveniently located for the common mwananchi,” he said Wajir County Women Representative Fatuma Jeho spoke on the rise of gender-based violence (GBV) in Wajir County. She highlighted the recent incident in Habaswein where a young girl was gang raped by three men. Fatuma appealed to the Ministry of Interior to assist GBV victims, particularly within the jurisdiction and security sector. She asked the CS to prioritize GBV cases and ensure the swift arrest of the suspects.
Senator Mohamed Abbas of Wajir County addressed the financial challenges faced by the National Police Reserve (NPR) and called upon Kindiki and the Interior Ministry to devise a solution.
Abey Kunow Ismail, a resident of Eldas South constituency thanked the president for bringing essential services closer to the residents saying they are pleased.
