Beware of criminals who infiltrate demos, Wanga tells Gen Z

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has called on Gen Z to resist criminals who infiltrate their protests to ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001498269/losses-as-gen-z-demos-paralyse-businesses-and-transport-in-city">loot and cause chaos<.
Governor Wanga is concerned that criminals are exploiting demonstrations to commit crimes.
During the launch of an informal settlement improvement project on Rusinga Island in Suba North Constituency, Wanga said that some criminals commit crimes and hurt innocent residents.
“We want our youths to exercise their democratic right of holding peaceful demonstrations. I urge them to be wary of criminals who infiltrate their demonstrations,” Wanga said.

The governor claimed some criminals end up raping women during the demonstrations.
“It is unfortunate that some criminals destroy property and rape women. Let our youth stand firm against the criminals during the demonstrations,” Wanga said.
Some members of Generation Z in Homa Bay town complained that their demonstrations had been infiltrated by people with criminal intentions.
The young protesters aim to hold the government accountable and improve public service.
Job Otulo, a youth, cited a lack of government accountability as an obstacle to the country's development.
“We want to hold the government accountable to serve the people better. But we have noticed that some people are taking advantage of our demonstrations to destroy property, it is wrong,” said Okumu.
Davin Okumu, another youth called for transparency in Parliament and the Executive arms of the government.
Okumu urged the government to create employment opportunities for the youth. “Let the government bring back the Kazi Mataani and other projects that can enable the youth to earn a living,” Okumu said.
