President William Ruto has vowed to keep the numerous promises he has made to Kenyans before the next general elections. This comes as he faces mounting criticism for failing to follow through on most of those pledges.

Speaking in Suswa, Narok at the start of his three-day tour of the Maa region, the President maintained that he will put the naysayers to shame adding that he will have delivered.

“There are people accusing me of lying to Mama Mboga. I will put all those people to shame,” said President Ruto.

He added: “I’m working throughout the country as mandated by Kenyans. I must live up to the commitments I made in the manifesto that we can transform this country. It may not happen in a month, or a year, but finally by 2027 I will have discharged my commitments and responsibility to the people of Kenya.”

While in Narok County, President Ruto launched the 30,000 capacity Suswa modern market and a similar project in Ntulele.

Additionally, he pledged Sh2.5 million to women to help them relocate from their makeshift stalls into the new facility which has amenities including a kitchen, an eatery, a cold room and a meeting hall.

Further, Ruto gave an assurance to the youth who fell victims of ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001515759/government-warns-kenyans-against-rising-foreign-job-scams">rogue agents< who promised them jobs in Turkey without delivering despite charging exorbitant fees for the ‘opportunities’.

“I’m pursuing those criminals. I’ve asked the Turkey ambassador to help us get those criminals so that we can get them to refund our youth. If that doesn’t work I’ll travel to Turkey to get that money,” assured President Ruto.

The tour of Maa counties of Narok, Kajiado and Samburu counties follows the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/politics/article/2001518031/ruto-travels-back-to-nyanza-on-a-strategy-that-won-him-mt-kenya">development tour< the President took in Migori county over the past two days.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina, and governors Patrick Ole Ntutu (Narok), Joseph Ole Lenku (Kajiado) and Lati Lelelit (Samburu) are among leaders accompanying the president.
