Deputy President Kithure Kindki and Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho have turned the economic empowerment drive at the Coast into a campaign for the reelection of President William Ruto.

On Saturday, Prof Kindiki and Joho led several Coast politicians in rallies at Shelly Beach in Likoni Sub-county and Jomvu Primary School in Jomvu Sub-county in support of President Ruto and the broad-based government, which they said was fashioned to benefit all Kenyans without leaving anyone behind.

The political campaign was capped with funds drives for women and youth where Kindiki dished out huge amounts of money from President Ruto.

He dismissed opposition leaders discrediting President Ruto’s leadership, describing them as tribal leaders out to divide the country.

Kindiki claimed the opposition leaders had resorted to tribal politics after they realized they had no following in many regions.

Kindiki insisted President Ruto had more support than the opposition in the country and said he will win the next general election.

“We know they have no following and that is why they have resorted to tribal politics to divide the country,” said Kindiki.

Joho declared that the Coast region will vote for President Ruto in 2027 and that there is no going back.

The CS for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs said that, as Coast leaders, they were satisfied with Ruto’s leadership and would support him all the way to 2027.

“As Coast people, we have agreed to ensure President William Ruto is elected for a second term in 2027 to thank him for showing good leadership so that in 2032, they (Ruto’s allies) support us for the presidency,” said

President Ruto sent Sh3 million, Kindiki donated Sh1.5 million while Farouk Kibet donated Sh1 million.
