Thirty people among them 26 students were injured in a road accident at the Sachangwan black spot along the Nakuru- Eldoret Highway.

Molo Sub County police commander Timon Odingo said the students and teachers were travelling to Nairobi from Eldoret where they had attended music festivals.

The injured are recuperating at various hospitals in Nakuru. They include three teachers, 26 students, and one non-teaching staff.

"The bus involved belongs to Rockside Academy in Nairobi," said Odingo.

The sub-county police boss said a crane, which was behind the bus lost control and hit three vehicles.

"The crane hit the bus from behind and two other private cars pushing them off the road. Some 30 people on board the bus were hurt while those in the private cars escaped without injuries," said Odingo.

He explained that locals responded to the scene on time and managed to rescue the survivors who were taken to Molo Sub County and Nakuru County hospitals for medical attention.

"The matter is still under investigation," said Odingo.

Meanwhile, four foreign tourists are among five people killed in a road accident in Narok County after a head-on collision between a tour van and trailer.
