KCB, Kabras Sugar kick off Dala Sevens with easy wins in Kisumu

KCB Rugby and Kabras Sugar on Saturday morning begun their hunt for the Dala Sevens title with easy wins as the battle to claim the 2024 National Sevens Circuit continues.

KCB who are in Group B together with Nondescripts, Homeboys and Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad kicked off their day with a commanding 24-0 win over the university students.

On the other hand, Kabras Sugar humbled Satllions Sevens 21-0 to also make a perfect start.

Derrick Ashiundu, Erick Cantona and William Muhanji crossed over the white was for the sugar men who top Group A.

The Christie Sevens champions and Kakamega Sevens bronze medallist headline Group C alongside MMUST, Stallions and hosts Kisumu RFC.

“We played well in the first match. We controlled the game and we are going to take it a game at a time,” said Kabras sevens coach Felix Ayange.

Menengai Oilers kicked off the games with a 31-0 win over Mwamba before National Sevens Circuit series leaders Kenya Harlequin who are also the Kakamega Sevens champions saw off Strathmore Leos 17-12.

Nondescrpits also picked a first win with a 17-10 win over Homeboyz while Masinde Muliro University humbled hosts Kisumu RFC 21-15.

Catholic Monks defeated Zetech 19-12 as Nakuru rallied to force a 19-19 draw against Dayster Falcons.
