Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) and Administration Police of Kenya (APK) triumphed in their respective matches as the 2024-2025 regular season of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Men’s National League ended on Saturday at Nyayo Gymnasium and volleyball court.
In one of the high-stake encounters, KAPU fought tooth and nail to edge out Prisons Nairobi in a five-set thriller and increase their chances of finishing in the top eight. They took the first set 25-19 but fizzled out in the second to allow the warders to draw level 25-18. They recovered to take the third set 25-12 before fumbling again to let Prisons Nairobi take the fourth 25-23. KAPU bounced back to win the decisive set 15-9.
APK beat the National Youth Service (NYS) 3-0(25-23, 25-17, 25-24) to wind up the regular season on a positive note.
In other matches, former champions General Service Unit (GSU) dismissed Western Prison in straight sets of 25-18, 25-23 and 26-24 to end the regular season on top of the table.
GSU, who are keen to wrestle the trophy from Kenya Prisons who have denied them the joy of being champions the past two seasons topped the standings with 39 points from 12 wins and a loss.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) are the only side to have beaten GSU though the paramilitary side salvaged a point from their 3-2 loss to the dockers. GSU had dropped a point in their 3-2 win against holders Kenya Prisons.
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) held the nerve to beat Kenya Forest Services 3-2 to cement their place in the top five.
KFS, who had a dull finish began well taking the first set 25-23 but KDF determined to end the regular season with victory fought back to snatch the second set 27-25 and restore parity. The soldiers would be dominant in the third set to win 25-18 and take a 2-1 lead. However, KFS refused to go down without a proper fight taking the fourth set 25-19 to set the stage for the decisive fifth set which KDF dominated to take it 15-10 and make it 11 wins out of 14.
