With re-election of Boxing Federation of Kenya President Anthony ‘Jamal’ Ombok, more sponsors are set to be brought on board to support the federation’s activities, Ombok confirmed yesterday.

He said the standards of boxing are set to improve after the unveiling of the new sponsors in the coming months.

“We have had no sponsors for the last five years but we have managed to put up with the pressures that goes with the management of boxing. I’m happy we have been improving with every step we make. More is yet to be achieved that should be accomplished soon,” Ombok told reporters after his re-election.

He said with the support, sky is the limit for local boxers in local and international assignments.

“Once we ink a deal with our sponsors, it should be the turning point for our teams in international assignments besides the local activities,” said the BFK boss.

“We have had talks with two or three sponsors who are willing to support us in our activities in our last term of administration,” Ombok said.

He said he wants was to see the sport gets back to it’s previous standards and therefore there was need for support from all stakeholders.
