Trans-nzoia governor George Natembeya has lashed out at some politicians, questioning his nationality and calling for his expulsion from the county.

He rubbished the calls and termed the remarks by the leaders as reckless and misguided. “I have taken note of the reckless and deeply troubling remarks by certain politicians who not only questioned my nationality but even suggested I be expelled from Kenya. Such incendiary statements are false, inflammatory, and strike at the very heart of our shared identity as Kenya,” he said.

In a statement, Natembeya said he was born and raised in Kenya and has served the nation in various capacities with dedication. Some  leaders from the North Eastern region have criticised Natembeya following his opposition to President William Ruto’s move to relax vetting rules for ID seekers at the porous borders.
