In Rachuonyo South Sub-County, a 29-year-old businessman identified as Fred Omondi committed suicide in his shop.

Omondi’s body was found dangling in a manila rope that was tied to the roof of his chemist at Dol Kodera trading centre in Kodera South Location.

The body was discovered by his friend, who had gone to meet him.

Rachuonyo South Sub-County Police Commander Philemon Saera said the motive of the suicide had not been established.

Saera said they were going on with investigations into what caused the incident.

“He did not leave a suicide note. Meanwhile, investigations are going on,” Saera said.

He urged residents to share their problems with the people who are close to them for solutions instead of taking away their lives.

“Let the people know that suicide does not help at all. They should share their problems to enable them to get advice that can save their situation,” Saera said.

The body was moved to Rachuonyo South Sub-County Hospital Mortuary in Oyugis Town.

In Rachuonyo North Sub-County, a 41-year-old man identified as Samuel Arunga committed suicide.

Arunga’s body was found dangling from a rope tied to the roof of his house in the bedroom at Apida Karabondi Village.

The body was found by his brother, who reported the matter to the local security officers.

Rachuonyo North Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Tanui said the reason for the suicide had not been established since there was no suicide note.

“Our officers went to the scene and found the body had no visible injuries. He had already died,” Tanui said.

Tanui urged residents to share their problems with their friends and relatives whenever they have issues, to prevent suicide.

“Problems are there all over the world. But I urge the public to share their problems with their friends and relatives whenever they have issues. This can enable them to find a solution instead of committing suicide,” Tanui added.

The body was moved to Kendu Adventist Hopital Morgue at Gendia.

Elsewhere in Ndhiwa Sub-County, a 42-year-old man identified as Yusuf Odhiambo was found dead under unclear circumstances near his home.

Odhiambo’s body was found near his home at Kanyatenya Village in East Kabuoch Location.

Ndhiwa Sub-County Police Commander John Losia said the cause of Otieno’s death had not been established.

Losia said the body lacked visible injuries.

“We are waiting for postmortem results to help us know what caused his death for further investigations,” Losia said.

The body was moved to Rosewhood Mortuary in Rongo Town.
