Kanja forms anti-graft committee in police service

A high-level anti-corruption committee has been commissioned in the counties to facilitate the fight against graft and criminal activities within the security agencies.

Regional Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi said the committee has been launched in the counties of Laikipia, Nyandarua, Nyeri, and Kirinyaga, with instructions to handle cases related to rising incidents of graft within the National Police Service.

The anti-graft county committees, whose members will be drawn from the police service, were ordered to formulate and develop practical work plans and strategic plans to eliminate graft within the police ranks.

“The committees will be the watchdogs to ensure there is transparency and discipline among officers at the county level,” he said while speaking in a Murang’a hotel.

Ndanyi observed that the anti-graft committees have been formed in the counties, a demonstration of the elaborate dedication to end the vice within the security agents.

“This is in line with a directive from the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, aimed at institutionalizing accountability, enhancing professionalism, and restoring public confidence in the police service,” said Ndanyi.
