Two officers injured as mob lynch suspected motorbike thief

Two police officers were injured by a mob that was baying for the blood of a suspected motorcycle thief.
The officers sustained injuries as they tried to rescue the suspect from irate boda boda operators and members of the public.
The officers fired in the air to disperse the mob to no avail.
The mob managed to get hold of the suspect and lynched him.
Drama started when the irate boda boda operators gave chase and caught up with the suspect in Limuru town.

The man is suspected to have stolen a motor bike from one of the boda boda operators.
This comes three days after two men were stabbed to death by a gang that stole motorbikes in the same area.
During the melee Limuru-Kiambu road was a no-go zone.
Police from nearby Limuru sub-county were called for reinforcement but it was too late to save the suspect.
