Kwale man dies in guest room after night out with lover

A Kinango National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) driver in Kwale county has died in a guest room in Mombasa under mysterious circumstances.
Johnson Chaka Nyae is said to have died at Joyland guest house at Timbwani in Likoni subcounty, Mombasa county, where he had a night out after a drinking spree in a pub.
Police in Likoni confirmed the incident and said they had questioned the woman in his company who confirmed she was with the man before he lost breath in the course of merry-making with a lover.
“Yes, we are investigating the matter to ascertain what had happened to Nyae at Joyland guest room, where the body was retrieved before being transferred to Coast Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue,” said the police.

Before the incident, the lover admitted to the police that they had spent time drinking at Joyland Bar and later in the night retired at the guest house.
Nyae, 51, and the lover, who was aged 48 years, were said to have been lovers for some time.
However, when the two love birds met again on Tuesday, they got the opportunity to reignite the old memories which turned tragic.
Sources said police found sexual power drugs in the deceased's trousers.
He is set to be buried in his Kinango home on January 10, 2026.
The woman is said to have contacted the NG-CDF officials after getting the contacts from the victim's mobile phone.
The girlfriend told the police how they visited Joyland Bar and restaurant in Timbwani to enjoy a drink before they booked a room.
Unfortunately, police said the woman told them Chaka, her long-time boyfriend, developed breathing difficulties and collapsed while they were together.
