Police in Isebania, Migori County, have seized 423 kg of bhang valued at Sh12.6m and arrested a suspect following a raid on a warehouse in Taraqwiti Village.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers from Isebania Police Station searched the premises and recovered fourteen full sacks and two smaller sacks of dried plant material suspected to be bhang.
"During the operation, police arrested a 23-year-old lady who was found within the compound," police authorities told The Standard.
She reportedly told investigators that the godown belonged to her brother-in-law, identified as Joseph Merengo.
Additionally, officers discovered 23 cartons of explosives commonly used in mining, four 200-kilogram drums of cyanide, and two cartons containing eight rolls of detonating wire.
