Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia are back in the FKF Premier League title race.
The defending champions seem to have awaken from their sleep and reignited their push to retain the title they won last season after coming from behind to thrash Kariobangi Sharks 3-1 in a rescheduled match played in front of new Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy at Dandora Stadium.
Austin Odhiambo led the K’Ogalo comeback after netting a brace and Alpha Onyango got the other to lift Gor to within three points of leaders Kenya Police.
Fortune Omoto gave Sharks a dream start after finding the back of the net in the 26th minute for 1a -0 lead.
However, Alpha Onyango restored parity for K’Ogalo moments before the break when he fired a low thumping shot from the edge of the box to tie the scores at 1-1.

In the final half, Odhiambo took matters into his own hand to bail Gor out of the mud again when he converted two set pieces and seal maximum points for the champions infront of Bafana Bafana legend McCarthy.
First, Odhiambo gave Gor a 2-1 lead from a dead ball free kick just outside the penalty box,
The Harambee Stars midfielder then sealed the win with a penalty after being brought down in the box.
Victory lifted Gor 39 points, two behind second-placed Tusker and three behind leaders Police and with a game in hand.
