In sports, one must choose the best playing team partner in order to beat others and this was evident when home club’s Moses Namuye went through all the 113 players but finally settled to play with club mate Tobias Khoi.
The choice bore fruit after the duo carded an excellent 45 stable ford points to merge the overall team winner of the men green-some golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa county on Saturday.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude this evening to be the overall winners of this tournament. Many of our hours went into practice and we will continue to improve our game as we look forward to more victories. We are indeed humbled and appreciative to you all,” said Namuye and Khoi.
Nyali Golf and Country Club organised and supported the daylong 18 holes’ tournament that saw Gurbux Singh and his son Tanraj Singh claim the second spot on 43 points, two points ahead of third placed team of Thusara De Silva and Reaz Alibhai.
William Kamau and Alex Macharia were the guest team winners after returning a score of 32 points.
