900 birth certificates lost in Kitui, Kindiki says

The Ministry of Interior has raised alarm over the loss of 900 birth certificates from the Mutomo registration office in Kitui County.
In a notice published in local dailies, Acting Secretary of Civil Registration Services Paul Mwangemi revealed that the loss involved nine birth certificate booklets, each containing 100 certificates.
"The affected birth certificate booklets have serial numbers: 1502001 - 1502100, 1502101 - 1502200, 1502201 - 1502300, 1502301 - 1502400, 1502401 - 1502500, 1502501 - 1502600, 1502601 - 1502700, 1502701 - 1502800, and 1502801 - 1502900," the notice stated.
The Ministry also warned the public that the stolen certificates have been canceled and are now invalid.
“Anyone in possession of a certificate with any of the listed serial numbers is advised to return it to the Secretary, Civil Registration Services," Mwangemi added.
