The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is now offering an unspecified cash reward to anyone with credible information leading to the re-arrest of the Kware dumpsite murder suspect Collins Jumaisi Khalusha.

In a press statement, DCI stated that the suspect aged 31, was scheduled to be charged with murder but escaped from police custody on Monday, August 20, 2024.

"A significant cash reward will be provided to anyone with credible information leading to the suspect's arrest. He is from Shiru Sub-location, Shaviringa Location, Hamisi Sub-county in Vihiga County," the statement read in part.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts can report confidentially to the anonymous #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203, the police hotlines 999, 911, and 112, or any police station in Kenya.

"Your support could greatly impact the re-arrest of this wanted suspect. Every piece of information is valuable," DCI stated.

Khalusha escaped alongside 12 suspects from Gigiri Police Station in Nairobi leading to the suspension of eight police officers over the escape, which police said was aided by insiders.

Khalusha had confessed to the murders of 42 women, including his wife, since 2022 - but his lawyer claimed that he had been tortured to confess.
