Deputy President Kithure Kindiki embarked on his first foreign trip as the second-in-command, representing President William Ruto in Gaborone, Botswana.
Kindiki attended the inauguration ceremony of Duma Gideon Boko as the 6th President of the Republic of Botswana.
Since his appointment in the Kenya Kwanza government, Kindiki was the only Cabinet Secretary in Ruto's administration who had not yet traveled internationally.
The trip comes just a day after he formally assumed office as Deputy President, a week after being sworn in.
