Members of Parliament are key figures in fostering the development agenda of their constituency through the utilisation of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) allocated from the national kitty.
In a political landscape often marred by scandals and the misuse of public resources, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has emerged as a beacon of integrity and effective leadership.
This comes at the peak of a legal battle over the constitutionality of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) is set to intensify after Members of Parliament vowed to challenge the court’s decision.
Although MPs aren't actively involved in the use of the money, the projects funded by the CDF committee are usually put on their lists of achievements.

The latest report by the Auditor General confirms what Mavoko constituents have known all along: their MP is a leader who delivers on his promises.
The 2023 Auditor General’s report reveals that Makau allocated every shilling of his National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) to meaningful development projects and bursaries.
At a time when many constituencies grapple with incomplete projects and unanswered questions about the whereabouts of public funds, Mavoko stands tall as a model of accountability.
Beyond infrastructure, Makau's dedication to education has opened new doors for thousands of students through bursaries, easing the burden on parents and giving hope to the next generation.
"Education is the backbone of development, and we must invest in our children’s future," Makau often reiterates.
Independent research polls have consistently ranked him among the top three performing MPs nationally, a testament to his hands-on leadership and deep understanding of the needs of his people.
The Auditor General’s report also highlighted other clean MPs, including Hon. Babu Owino of Embakasi East, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro of Kiharu, and Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba of Githunguri.
