The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Charles Onyango Ka’galo, the former Likoni Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) on corruption-related charges.
EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said Ka’galo was apprehended on Tuesday at his rural home in Oyugis, and later transferred to Mombasa, where he was detained at Port Police Station.
According to Ngumbi, the arrest aligns with efforts to deal with corruption in the country.
“The Commission is intensifying its focus on bribery at service delivery points and will continue to address it with the same vigor and determination applied to grand corruption, given the significant harm that bribery inflicts on the public,” said Ngumbi.
The former DCIO is set to be arraigned before the Mombasa Anti-Corruption Court today.
