NPSC chairmanship candidate collapses, dies before interview

Komora Mubadi Jilo, a candidate for the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairperson position, collapsed and died on Tuesday, March 25.
Jilo was awaiting his turn for the interview at the Public Service Commission (PSC) offices along Harambee Avenue when he collapsed.
He was among four shortlisted candidates for the position, alongside former Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa, ex-IEBC commissioner Margaret Mwachanya, former MP Humphrey Kimani, and former IPOA member Doreen Nkatha.
Friends and colleagues have described the former 2022 Garsen MP candidate as a hardworking man.
Tana River Senator Danston Mungatana led politicians to mourn the deceased. Mungatana termed Jilo as a hard-working man, adding that the County has lost a gallant son.

“I received this morning, while in Arusha on an official visit, the sad news of the sudden passing away of Komora Jilo. He was a hard-working man who loved his family and one who had a spirit of always trying to go forward. Indeed, death found him while trying to take another step forward in his public service career,” said Mungatana.
“Tana River County has lost a gallant son, and we shall all miss him. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
His cause of death remains unknown. The body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
