20 killed in Kisumu road crash

21 people have been killed in a tragic road crash at Coptic Roundabout in Mamboleo, Kisumu.
According to Nyanza Regional traffic enforcement officer Peter Maina, who confirmed the incident, the victims were travelling from Kakamega to Nyakach.
"At around 5 PM, AIC Naki Secondary School bus, which was heading to Kisumu from Kakamega, lost control at Coptic Roundabout and rolled into a ditch across the road," said Maina.
"We've lost 21 people; 10 women, 10 men and a girl aged around 10 years. Five people were seriously injured. Another 15, including an eight-month old baby escaped with injuries and are recuperating at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital," he added.
The victims are yet to be identified.

The accident involved AIC Naki Secondary School Bus. However, no students lost their lives as the bus was ferrying mourners.
The driver of the bus is among the victims.
The ill-fated bus was pulled to Kondele Police Station.
