Bishop warns against same-sex unions

Hami church Bishop Samuel Ogallo has said same-sex marriage should not be encouraged in the country as it goes against Christianity teachings and beliefs.
Bishop Ogallo emphasized that the church only recognises the marriage of different genders as they are expected to give birth and fill the world.
He was speaking on Saturday at Kandalo village,Nyahera in Kisumu county during the burial of Bishop Amos Owili Wasala of Children of the Promise Church (CPC) Kawangware.
Ogallo urged churches not to officiate same-sex marriage.

"The practice of those people is purely having a union and companion but not marriage," he said warning that the same-sex union is slowly taking root in the country.
The bishop said some church leaders are encouraging same-sex unions and warned of God's wrath if the habit is not stopped.
He challenged Christians to be boldly speak against same-sex unions, terming them evil.
The late Bishop Wasala who was the founder of CPC Church died of health complications on January 5, 2025, aged 64.
Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi in a speech read on her behalf by Kabiro MCA Clarence Munga called on Kenyans to embrace regular health check-ups.
Elachi said that many people were busy working and ignoring their health which leads to late diagnosis of diseases.
"Many people especially those providing essential services are always busy working and ignore going for tests to check on their health status and fitness," she said.
The MP urged religious to go for regular medical tests saying the majority spend their time doing evangelism.
"It has been established that when one reaches the age of 48 years people begin to experience health challenges. One is supposed to go for tests for diabetes and high blood pressure," she said.
