Police probe death of student during football match in Kericho

Police in Kericho have launched investigations into the death of a Form Two student at Moi Sitotwet Secondary School who collapsed and died during an inter-class football competition at the school.
The student collapsed on Wednesday evening while waiting for a penalty shootout between two classes.
According to a police report, the student was immediately rushed to Kericho County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Kericho East Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer, Rhoda Kanyi, confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine whether the death was due to natural causes or if foul play was involved.

"The investigation will unravel whether the student died of natural causes or whether there was foul play," she said.
The body of the deceased has been moved to Kericho County Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
