There was a standoff along Suswa Duka Moja Road after a vehicle ran over several sheep, prompting protests from residents.
The Thursday night incident saw the community stay at the scene overnight as they demanded Sh3 million compensation for the dead sheep.
Witnesses told The Standard that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
According to the residents, the sheep are a crucial part of their economy and they will not back off until they are compensated.
The owners said the Sh3 million compensation demand for the dead sheep is a fair representation of the financial loss they have incurred by the accident.
