KCB crush Mwamba to move top of Kenya Cup

KCB Rugby delivered a statement performance after demolishing Mwamba RFC 77-22 at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday to storm to the top of the standings as Kenya Cup resumed after the festive season break.
The banker’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, as they outclassed Mwamba with a relentless attacking display.
Jacob Ojee led the charge with a hat trick, while Davis Chenge bagged a brace. Further tries from Peter Waitere, Emmanuel Silungi, Austin Sikutwa, Rocky Aguko, Dennis Waithaka, and Tyson Maina highlighted the Bankers' clinical execution.
KCB raced into an early lead with two quick tries, only for Mwamba to briefly respond with a converted try and a penalty, cutting the deficit to 12-10.
The Bankers then shifted gears, with Waitere and Ojee extending the lead before Chenge’s second try and a powerful effort from Silungi capped off a commanding first half at 34-10.

In the second half, KCB continued to dominate, with Sikutwa, Maina, and Ojee adding to the scoreline. Mwamba managed two consolation tries, but KCB’s unrelenting attack saw Aguko and Waithaka cross the whitewash before a final unconverted try sealed the 77-22 victory.
The win moved them top of the log with 20 points and s superior point difference of 248 points.
Kabras Sugar who also have 20 points dropped to second after their 45-5 win over Strathmore Leos could only increase their point difference to 239 points.
